“A picture is worth a thousand words”
But what happens when there are thousands of stories waiting to be told? When emotions run deeper than words can express, the camera becomes the voice. For me, shutters and lenses take over where words fall short.
Hello, I am Pinu Rahman.
I am a self-taught amateur photographer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I grew up in Pirojpur, a small town in the Barisal division. I still like to introduce myself as an amateur, because photography for me is a continuous journey of learning and practice. My primary interests lie in lifestyle and travel photography, where I try to capture the quiet stories hidden within everyday life.Academically, I completed my graduate and postgraduate degrees in Botany from the University of Dhaka, and later obtained an MBA from the University of Khulna. My journey in photography began around a decade ago, in 2012, when I first picked up a camera with a sense of purpose. What started as curiosity gradually transformed into a deep passion.
Professionally, I serve as an Assistant General Manager at Rupali Bank PLC, a state-owned commercial bank in Bangladesh. Although my profession and passion belong to two different worlds, I have learned to exist comfortably in both. The discipline of corporate life sharpened my focus, while photography allowed me to explore and express the beauty that often hides within ordinary urban passages and rural simplicity.
For me, photography is about discovering the extraordinary within the ordinary—finding meaning, emotion, and stories in moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
